The geometry of shadows

I’m not sure how aware I was of the shadows when I took the shot. All I remember thinking of was getting a close-up of the doors into Boudoir de la Reine, an uncropped close-up of The Last Few Steps Home. But when I looked at it in Lightroom, the weaving, complex shadows were what grasped me.
