Living life in HDR
Hopefully, you’ve begun to notice some differences, but this might be gated by the nature of the display you’re viewing them on. You might have seen that the first image is brighter. You might see more light in the shadows of the second image. you might think that the clouds in the first image are more clearly defined. You might see more intense colour in the second image. What I see is greater definition in the bricks and windows, a more natural softness in the sky and clouds, and stronger colour in the most lit areas.
The first image has been edited in in SDR (standard dynamic range) and the second in HDR (high dynamic range). So this is just the edit. No special approach (exposure bracketing where a series of photos are taken in quick succession which are then combined to increase dynamic range) was used in taking the shot. It’s all in the edit. It’s great to see a more rounded photos emerge just from the edit.
