There once was a dream that was Versailles

While I can and have critiqued this photo as I’ve edited it, it’s greatest flaw is obvious: it can’t capture the majesty of the Royal Chapel because that can only be felt by being inside it. To see beauty in 360 degrees is special. To see it in 720 degrees is astonishing. Seeing such beauty, seeing the heights to which humanity can rise if it can but marshal a vision and summon the authority to realise it, is life changing. To see this and then look at the rest of the modern western world, to see the extent of the banality and mediocrity packaged as incredible, creates a gulf that I cannot bridge.
