The lines

I can look at this photo and see what’s wrong with it: too many lines this way and that, too complicated, too busy to the left, too lopsided if I crop it out…

But I can’t let it go. Perhaps it’s because it’s because of all those lines and not despite them, for each one is an intriguing blend of dark wood and light snow. As much as I tell myself to move on to another photo, I keep coming back to it. And then with one last edit, it falls into place. I’ve never been keen on vignetting, but it was the last touch that wielded the magic.
