Scale

Think of the scale of any major chateau or country house. Think of the footprint, the architecture, design, labour, art, and life each one held. Now think of how many such sites there are. Can you imagine them being built today? If the answer is ‘yes’ I’d love to hear how because to me, they seem to be a product of a time that can never come again.
